The R5 Pro includes several new features and improvements!
The AutoStore R5 Pro is a product release that will be available in Q4 2023. They’re making the switch to a Lithium Titanium Oxide battery (LTO) which has a longer lifetime with a 10-year life expectancy versus the 5-year expectancy with the current lead-acid battery. The R5 & R5+ Pro robots additionally have a smaller percentage of chargers to robot, decreasing from a 75% ratio with the current R5 robots down to a 10-18% ratio.

The R5 Pro and R5+ Pro Robot has a longer lifetime, faster charge, low-temperature function (-30C), and higher charge current. It offers several benefits: fewer robots and chargers, reclaimed storage space due to fewer chargers, and lower requirements on your power grid. In addition to these benefits, you get a steady throughput across multi-shift operations as well as robust battery life which means more productivity and less maintenance time spent replacing chargers and robots in your AutoStore system!
- Faster Charging: The lithium titanate oxide (LTO) batteries offer rapid charging capabilities which increases the availability of individual robots.
- Enhanced Productivity: Implementation of the R5 Pro in large AutoStore systems enables a remarkable reduction in the number of robots needed on the same grid by up to 15.
- Space optimization: The adoption of LTO batteries in the new R5 Pro results in fewer chargers required, increasing the storage volume in the grid.
- Energy optimization: AutoStore Robots consume a low amount of energy but, with the R5 Pro Robots they consume even less.
