The Changing Face Of Logistics

Mary Adams has been in the logistics and supply-chain industry since 1982. Adams is part of a small and proud number of female executives in the logistics industry. Her professional experience first began as a draftsperson for SDI Industries, which was founded in 1977 by Don Desanctis. Adams attributes her growth to the mentorship of her founding members.

Taking proven technology and adapting it for the retail industry, has become the winning strategy for Adams, who now holds the title of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SDI Industries. Adams and her team understand accountability.

“We pride ourselves on designing creative and effective solutions. SDI’s goal is to assist growing companies and implement measures that will increase their productivity, efficiency and ultimately increase their profits, while decreasing their expenditure without sacrificing quality.”

SDI is continually upgrading and enhancing its systems technology to improve both its product portfolio and service offerings to customers. “We are integrators first and foremost, so our solutions incorporate the best of technology and software that is available in the market place”, says Adams. SDI provides the industry with a forum to share ideas about corporate culture and logistics strategy through their SDI Logistics and Supply Chain Forum. Executives are provided with a platform to discuss challenges, share successes, and speculate on the future of logistics and supply chain. Attendees to the forum include Levi Strauss & Co., BCBGMaxAzria, Hot Topic, SAP, Citizen Watch Company, NIKE, DSW Shoe Warehouse, BYER California, LaCoste and Bon Ton to name just a few.

With SDI continuing to be a leader in the logistics and supply-chain industries, Adams remains determined to offer SDI clients the added value of innovative design solutions, professional consulting, cutting edge engineering, and detailed planning. SDI’s associates are experienced in various fields of expertise including architecture, industrial, structural and mechanical engineering. Consultants have hands on retail operations experience and offer precision to streamlined materials handling integration. As CEO of a company that holds a roster of clients which are 60-80% repeat business, Mary Adams views relationship building as a cornerstone of SDI’s success.

“Relationships are built by understanding the client’s requirements and delivering creative, efficient solutions with a single point of accountability.”
