SDI Element Logic is Great Place to Work Certification Across Eight Nations!

SDI Element Logic is Great Place to Work Certification Across Eight Nations!

Element Logic has yet again proven to be a “Great Place to Work” by being certified in 8 countries, one more than the year before. The countries include Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, United Kingdom, USA, Colombia, and the Czech Republic. This achievement, surpassing our previous year’s accomplishment, is a testament to our commitment to fostering a nurturing and joyful work environment for all our employees.

Despite the challenges of a year filled with global uncertainties, our dedicated team members have voiced their satisfaction and pride in working with us.

Great Place to Work is a worldwide employee survey measuring employee satisfaction. Credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and community are the five dimensions that are measured. For a workplace to participate in the survey, there’s a minimum of ten employees and a Trust Index score of 70% to be certified.

“We are incredibly proud of our accomplishments over the past year. Our very own employees have spoken, making it possible for SDI Element Logic to get certified as a Great Place to Work two years in a row in the U.S. and Colombia.” Krish Nathan, CEO – Americas at SDI Element Logic, said. “We are proud to be a stable and gratifying company to work for, which is now certified across eight different countries.”

picture of krish nathan, the CEO of sdi element logic in the americas.

CEO of Great Place to Work Norway, Jannik Krohn Falck is impressed by the high score of Element Logic`s work environment – especially given their expansion to new regions.

“Element Logic has succeeded in sustaining a good and efficient culture while extending to new regions and countries. This is a solid achievement, especially in the challenging international environment. All levels of management and employees know that culture is crucial to success, and they continue to work in new and better ways to meet the future”, Falck said.

Our journey of growth

Element Logic has experienced significant growth over the years and is now present worldwide with over 900 employees. The outcomes of the survey are not a matter of chance; rather, a testament to the hard work and dedication exhibited by the people.

“Over the past years, we have experienced significant growth in our company. This often brings its own set of challenges, including the difficulty of maintaining a consistent culture in a growing company. Keeping this in mind, I am extremely proud of each team member, not only for their passion and dedication to their work but also for their invaluable contributions in establishing Element Logic as a Great Place to Work. This will be key in our ongoing efforts to aim high and achieve success in the future”, Dag-Adler Blakseth, Group CEO of Element Logic, said.

SDI ELEMENT LOGIC IMPLEMENTS AUTOSTORE AT HELLY HANSEN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – LOS ANGELES, August 16, 2023 — SDI Element Logic, a leading provider of materials handling systems and technology solutions to the retail, wholesale, fulfillment, and E-commerce industries, is happy to announce the successful, on-time Go-Live of its new AutoStore project in Sumner, WA, with long-time Element Logic partner Helly Hansen.

The performance ski and sailing apparel brand outfitted its Distribution Center with an AutoStore solution consisting of 50,000 bins, 36 robots, and 10 carousel ports, and is run by eManager software.

“The substantial reduction in product touches has enabled us to operate in a significantly leaner and more efficient manner,”

Team photo of Helly Hansen company in warehouse

Pressed by rapid growth, Helly Hansen, selected Element Logic because of the capabilities of their U.S. team, extending their reach from Europe across the Atlantic, in a warehouse in the Pacific Northwest.

“The AutoStore solution has allowed Helly Hansen to scale our operation during this time of rapid growth,” Dave Hawkins, Environment Health and Safety Manager at Helly Hansen, said. “Along with giving us the ability to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.”

Taking these factors into consideration, choosing the right partner was important for Helly Hansen’s success.

“Element Logic has a proven track record of successfully completing and exceeding the expectations of Helly Hansen in Europe,” Brian Crowle, Account Executive at SDI Element Logic, said. “So, there was a lot of trust in us, and Element Logic’s global infrastructure was key.”

Having a global provider, with a strong presence in the U.S., that provided local support 24/7, factory-trained technicians, and industry-leading software were only a few of the things Helly Hansen had to have.

“Element Logic’s eManager software was developed to maximize the efficiency of AutoStore while offering fast deployment at a very competitive price,” Crowle added. “This played a key differentiator in the selection process.”

Another record year for SDI Element Logic

Another record year for SDI Element Logic

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – LOS ANGELES, June, 2023

GLOBAL EXPANSION: In 2023 Element Logic`s Group Management Board consists of (from left to right): Krish Nathan (CEO Americas), Håvard Hallås (Group Chief Commercial Officer), Rikke Aas (Group Chief People & Culture Officer), Linda Pedersen (Group Chief Finance Officer), Dag-Adler Blakseth (Group CEO), Eir Bjørkly (CEO Europe), and Armin Gesslein (CEO APAC).

The tech-company doubles its turnover for the second year in a row, “Our aim is to revolutionize warehousing worldwide”, Dag-Adler Blakseth, Group CEO at Element Logic, said.

$523 million was SDI Element Logic`s turnover in 2022. An adjusted turnover growth of more than 100 percent compared to 2021*.

Other key figures for 2022:

  • The EBITDA came to $61.3 million.
  • Ordinary profits after taxes were $29.5 million.
  • The cash holdings at the end of 2022 were $39.8 million.

Group CEO, Dag-Adler Blakseth, points out three reasons why we can celebrate doubling its turnover for yet another year.

“Firstly, we operate in a market with generally strong growth. Secondly, we have dedicated and strategically oriented sales teams. And thirdly, we deliver good solutions without long delivery times”, Blakseth says.

Inflation, supply chain backlogs, record high energy prices, and geo-political instability filled 2022, which lead to dramatic changes within the industry. The macro level trends also affected the intralogistics industry.

“We have less predictability than before. This leads to more uncertainty within a business, but also among customers. Decision-making processes lasted much longer in 2022 than in 2020 and 2021. However, we showed that we handled the new situation very well”, Blakseth explained.

And one important move from Element Logic in 2022 was to cross the Atlantic.

From one continent to three

2022 became the year where Element Logic went from being a European company to a global player. In March last year they acquired the American company SDI – a supplier of turnkey automation and sorting solutions. With the acquisition of SDI, Element Logic expanded to 8 new locations in the US and Latin America.

“The acquisition of SDI was an important milestone for us. We have entered the US market together with a strong partner who accelerates our growth strategy and fits us very well”, Blakseth says.

Recently Element Logic was listed among the top 20 system suppliers in the world by the American magazine Modern Materials Handling. Blakseth emphasized that Element Logic`s global expansion has only just begun:

“This year we are expanding into the Asia-Pacific region. In Element Logic we aim to revolutionize warehousing worldwide, and we see great opportunities going forward.”

Dag-Adler Blakseth, one of the founders of Element Logic.

Nearly four decades in charge: Group CEO, Dag-Adler Blakseth, founded Element Logic together with his brother back in 1985.

Continuous search for smarter solutions

As a tech company, Element Logic is in constant need of development. In 2022 they added new expertise and capacity to their team. One important milestone was the acquisition of the German software company, S&P Computersysteme – a leading provider of IT solutions within the field of intralogistics.

“With S&P Computersysteme on our team we can increase our competence and capacity to innovate, integrate, and connect hardware and software solutions. This is key for us to continue developing and offering our customers the best solutions”, Blakseth explains.

Element Logic also made important moves within the field of intralogistics in 2022 by partnering up with the robotics and automation company, Addverb Technologies, who provides Autonomous Mobile Robot solutions.

robotic each picking unit

RELIABLE ROBOT: Element Logic`s robotic arm, eOperator, picks goods for the Swedish online Pharmacy, Apotea.

“Thanks to our collaboration with Addverb Technologies, we can now offer our customers a wide range of intralogistics solutions that all work together: AutoStore, eOperator, and AMRs”, Blakseth said.

“This is exactly what today`s customers expect. They don’t want to pick solutions from three or four different suppliers, they want to get it all from one systems integrator. This will be even more important in the future, and we want to be a preferred supplier and partner all over the world”, he concluded.

* Element Logic’s 2021 results were based on Norwegian accounting rules (NGAAP), while the 2022 figures are according to international accounting rules (IFRS).

SDI Element Logic in MMH’s Top 20 Material Handling Systems Suppliers

MMH Top 20 Suppliers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – LOS ANGELES, May 12, 2023

SDI Element Logic is incredibly proud to be among the top 20!

For the first time ever, SDI Element Logic is happy to announce that we are part of the Top 20 System Suppliers!

This year has proven to be another successful for warehouse automation makers and materials handling systems! It was suspected that there would be a significant fall-off as the industry had begun to cool from the pandemic, but that is not the case!

In the second half of 2022 we started to see major e-commerce companies curtail their overall spending on fulfillment center expansion, shaking the automation supplier’s industry. In addition to this, the market began to see a rise in inflation, an increase in capital costs, and had a significant impact from global events.

While these issues put a damper on the predicted boom, the automation industry is still growing in volume as customer expectations continue to move toward demands that only automated fulfillment centers can provide. Warehouse automation suppliers will continue to show an upward trajectory for annual growth in 2023!

SDI Element Logic’s inclusion in this year’s “Top 20 System Supplier List” from MMH, further solidifies the strength of the Company and our global momentum. We are hopeful and optimistic about the future of our work, and will continue to innovate, push the industry forward, and pave the way for new developments and improvements to provide the best possible solutions.
