The Mark IV Tilt Tray Sorter is designed to handle fragile or large product at rates of up to 6,000 units per hour. It has similar characteristics to the highly successful SDI Bombay Sorter but can sort products that are more difficult on the Bombay Sorter. The Mark IV has applications across a wide variety of industries. The trays can be supplied using plastic, aluminum or steel, depending on the application. The trays hold product captive on three sides and are slightly angled while moving to the appropriate destination. These attributes reduce the opportunity for product to fall out of trays. Though the Mark IV sorts a wide variety of products, (including fashion accessories, full cases, china, glass, books and mailers), the unit is particularly suitable for handling shoes. The benefits of the Mark IV is that it dramatically reduces manual labor costs associated with sortation. It automatically sorts individually packaged and barcoded products, and its simple design results in easy maintenance.
